Michelle Bauer, School Director, Voice
A native of Huntsville, Michelle has been teaching Music for fifteen years. She received her Masters Of Music in Vocal Performance with an emphasis in Vocal Pedagogy from Louisiana State University in 1995. During that time she taught at the University as a vocal instructor under the guidance of Dr. Lori Bade.
Among Michelle's professional credits her favorite include appearances with the Baton Rouge Opera as "Lauretta" in Gianni Schicchi and "Pamini" in Die Zauberflote, under the direction of Bodo Igesz . As well as "Valencienne" in the Merry Widow, "Gianetta" in the Gondoliers, and several engagements as soprano soloist in Handel's Messiah. Michelle has had the privilege of working with several talented choral directors and opera conductors such as Kenneth Fulton, Raphael Bundage, James Stewart, and Lynn Jemison-Keisker. Several vocal coaches include Carol Rausch, Lori Bade, and Stephen Austin. She was awarded the NATS Southern Regional Master Level Finalist as well as a member of Beta Lambda Chapter of Phi Kappa Lambda, Music Honors Society. Michelle is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
Michelle believes that as a musician it is an honor to help nurture and encourage the arts. To many a talent has been given as well as a desire to express themselves in music. She feels that it is her duty as a vocal instructor to help those interested in the area of singing to strive for excellence in vocal technique and musical expression through solo song. With proper guidance in vocal pedagogy one can acquire and maintain a healthy and beautiful singing voice.
Adrienne Worstell, Allegro Youth Orchestra Director, Strings
Adrienne is a graduate of The University of Missouri, Columbia with a BS in Music Education with Certification in Instrumental Music K-12. She taught for the Olathe, Kansas School District as an Elementary Orchestra Specialist as well as teaching fifth and sixth grade orchestra classes at five elementary schools. Her experience also includes teaching for the Missouri String Project at the University of Missouri while completing her degree program. For the String Project, she taught group lessons to third and fourth grade string students as a team teacher and as a solo teacher. During this time Adrienne also taught private violin, viola, cello, and bass lessons for the Community Music Program and individually contracted students.
At the University of Missouri, Columbia Adrienne also served as the MU chapter President of the Collegiate Music Educator's National Convention. She performed in the University Philharmonic, University of Missouri Cello Choir, and numerous Chamber Music Ensembles. Adrienne received multiple Awards and Scholarships from the School of Music including: Friends of Music Scholarship, Kathleen Kabrick String Award, and the Dorothy Miller String Award.
Adrienne has an enormous passion for teaching music. She is high energy in front of a classroom and likes to get things done. She has played the cello since she was five years old and knew she wanted to be a teacher at the age of 10. Will Neely, Percussion
Will graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor's of Music Composition in 2003. He has 17 years of experience in percussion performance and has played with several notable groups, including the Alabama All-State Band, where he was first chair timpani in 1998 and 1999. He has also played with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra and the Pine Bluff Orchestra as well as many other professional ensembles of various size. Will has over 7 years' worth of experience teaching a wide variety of percussion including orchestral, rudimental, solo and drumset. He currently lives in Huntsville with his wife and daughter. Will's desire is to help train and bring up the next generation of musicians and worship leaders.
Carrie Johnson, Piano
Carrie is a native of Huntsville. She began her piano studies at the age of 10. She is a graduate of Lee High School, where she was a member of the Choral Department and the Modern Music Masters Honor Society as well as she was accompanist to the SSA choir, various groups and soloists. Her college experience includes attending Auburn University and then on to the University of Montevallo where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Music in 1984.
In addition to teaching piano, Carrie is currently employed by the Madison County School System as a substitute teacher. Her goal is for her students to develop a love and appreciation for music.
Cherry Neely, Saxophone, Clarinet
Cherry came to Huntsville at the age of 5. She was a part of Huntsville High School Band and placed first chair Alto Sax in the Alabama All State Red Band. Cherry received her Bachelors of Music Education from Murray State University in Kentucky with her major instrument being Saxophone and her minor instrument being Trumpet. Also, she received her Master's in Religion and Education from Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee. Cherry has been teaching music since High School. She is presently the Band Director at Covenant Christian Academy where she has been teaching for the past 18 years. Teaching music to students is her ministry and her calling.
Patrick Bryant, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Bass, Piano
Patrick received his first guitar on his 11th birthday, exactly one week after seeing the Beatles perform live on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. The guitar has been a constant in his life ever since. After several years of regional touring and club work in and around the Atlanta, Georgia area, Patrick joined the United States Navy. Following his graduation with top honors from the Armed Forces School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia, Patrick auditioned for and won the lead guitar position with the Navy's Atlantic Fleet rock band, Gale Force. Gale Force toured virtually constantly throughout the eastern United States, the Caribbean and northern Europe as goodwill ambassadors for the Navy.
Following his tour of duty, Patrick studied music theory at the undergraduate level under Doctor Daniel Bakos at the University of West Georgia. Patrick has taught rock, jazz, and blues guitar to beginning through advanced students for many years.
Patrick is also an accomplished pianist. He started formal piano lessons at the age of five. Following his tour of duty with the United States Navy's Fleet Band, Patrick studied piano as a performance major at the University of West Georgia. He is currently preparing an entrance audition for Belmont University's Master of Piano Pedagogy program.
